From the very beginning of the fourth campaign, new Dungeon Master Brennan Lee Mulligan has kept viewers on edge with deep backstory, a wide array of heroes, and a thrilling plot showcasing celestial beings, demons, and dark forces increasing in power within the city.
Warning: Key plot points for Episode 3 of the new season are included.
The Soldiers Table Introduced
The third episode concluded with a dramatic pause and introduced the initial group of heroes who will split off from the main group to begin their own adventure, distinct from the other two tables.
This warrior group consists of Teor (brought to life by the voice actor), the nimble rogue (Laura Bailey), the strong-willed figure (Whitney), Wicander (the player), and the mysterious adventurer (Robbie).
The Reason for Division
Given an extensive roster, it was obvious from the outset that keeping everyone at a single group would be impossible.
That’s why, the first four episodes of this story serve as an Prelude, weaving together the individual narratives before branching into three distinct groups: Warriors, Schemers, and Explorers.
What Defines the Warrior Group
Per Brennan Lee Mulligan, the combat-focused party is for participants who are drawn to a classically intense battle-oriented gameplay experience where diplomatic options are scarce.
Initially, figures such as the reluctant priest the cleric might look unsuited, but the actions of episode 3 make it clear why these particular heroes are perfectly fit for the combat party.
Why They Must Go
First, the team understands precisely where to go next after a intense first encounter with the enemy group.
Casimir of Thjazi—whose passing kicked off the campaign’s events—used the enemy for his selfish purposes, breaking into the secret base, striking Thimble, and taking all the enchanted items to dispose of.
The antagonist then cleared his obligations and ran away to a fortified location in the remote area, above the urban center, with Teor’s brother pursuing him.
Character Drivers
Moreover, each character has a personal reason to leave the city Dol-Makjar:
- The agile hero, as the close ally and best friend, desires vengeance.
- The adventurer knows Timmony and advises that it is a dangerous location.
- The strong character and The healer, having disobeyed his house’s orders to eliminate the fighter and instead rescued him, have nowhere else to go.
- Yet, their position as important members in House Halovar could assist the group enter places they normally couldn’t.
- Furthermore, The fighter vowed a life debt to The cleric for his rescue and will now follow him everywhere.
Pursued by Authorities
Lastly, all of them are sought by the rulers that govern the setting for a multiple motives, making lingering locally no longer safe:
- Thimble and The hero are known criminals.
- The warrior and The healer turned against the powerful family and the legion of demons they are aligned with.
- The target is marked for death by House Halovar.
This results in them no alternative but to head to the northern region in pursuit of the antagonist.
What’s Next?
According to the recent installment’s Cooldown, we discover that the warrior group won’t be around the following episode, leaving the other eight players to round up the Explorers and Schemers parties.
Viewers can look forward to learning which players will be assigned to which table in the story’s last Overture episode, released on October 24.
